Mission Statement

The mission of Salt and Light of St. Thomas More is to serve St. Thomas More Parish as its primary resource and catalyst for the work of social justice. 

We will base our activities on the biblical and theological foundations of Catholic Social teaching.  

We will emphasize the "option for the poor" by pursuing issues which address the dignity and rights of people who are socially, politically, economically, or spiritually disadvantaged.

 We will maximize opportunities to assist and work with organizations, coalitions, and neighborhood groups to promote our common interests.  

We will work to promote cooperation and coordination between the established ministries in the parish, in order to maximize efforts and foster good will. 

We will cooperate with the Pastoral Council in establishing new ministries based on need and interest. 

We will educate the parish membership regarding the baptismal call of all Christians and the opportunities to serve our brothers and sisters in Christ. 

We will assess, on a regular basis, the success of our efforts in these areas for the purpose of evaluating the need for change and/or improvement.
