Success for Many is Being Employed…..Especially the Homeless.
What makes a charitable cause a Ministry? Your time and talent - that personal touch.
Although challenging, St Joseph the Worker can offer you the opportunity to be personally involved by sharing your special gifts with those who need a helping hand. St. Joseph the Worker's primary focus and mission is helping people to help themselves. They provide people with the tools necessary to conduct successful job searches and support them in their efforts to better their lives.
St. Joseph the Worker helps individuals return to the workforce and become self-sufficient, productive members of society. Since last year, 420 people have found permanent jobs through their program.
While your feet helped make the 13th Annual Hike for the Homeless a success whether by hiking or simply making a donation that day as well as your purchase of a Car Raffle ticket, we know that there is more we can do like the mid-season clothing drive of last year. The St. Thomas More Team in conjunction with St. Joseph the Worker is looking to put together some in-parish projects that you will give you more opportunities to become involved in this Outreach Ministry.
On site volunteering is always available but limited to M-F [7-4] downtown. If interested in how you can help Working to End Homelessness call (602) 417-9854 or go on line to www.sjwjobs.org.
Reaching out to others by volunteering a few hours or doing one simple task provides an enormous return. “…whatsoever you did for one of the least of my brothers, you did for Me.” Matthew 25:40
