Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Thomas More Conference
St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic, non-profit organization that helps people who may be in need of food, clothing, housing, utilities, medicine, and many other services. St. Thomas More’s Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul serves anyone within our Parish boundaries who may need any of these services due to financial hardship. Helping clients is just one aspect of our Ministry. We have several members who volunteer at the Sunnyslope Dining Room on the fourth Friday of each month. They help serve meals to low income and homeless families.
We also hold a Thanksgiving Day Food Drive every year, in which we request non-perishable donations for our pantry. We also participate in the Adopt-a-Family Program at Christmas, which matches sponsoring families in our Parish with families who may need a little help in providing a nice Christmas meal and gifts for their own families.
It is only by the generosity of the parishioners of St. Thomas More that our Ministry has continued to grow.
Finally we need men and women to commit a little of their time to perform the works of the Society, generally within the Parish boundaries. We ask a commitment of just a few hours a week – answering a phone, delivering food boxes, cleaning and stocking the pantry, visiting families in need, working at the food reclamation center, helping out at one of the thrift stores or serving hot meals to the homeless.
If you are interested in volunteering, please call the SVdP Conference number at 623-694-0942 and leave a message.
If you are in need of assistance please call 623-694-0942 and leave a message.
We would like to thank Father Jim and all of you, the parishioners of St. Thomas More, very much for your continued support of our Conference. Our Ministry could not continue without your support. Thank you and God Bless.
