Divorced & Separated
Although marital separation and divorce are more common than any of us would like to believe, we all know that separation and divorce are truly realities in our society. Very few of us can call it easy. For many undergoing separation or divorce, at least one of the parties feels tremendous loss, sometimes unbearable pain. As with death of a loved one, divorce or separation frequently brings on feelings of shock, anger and deep sadness, among other feelings. The wounds of divorce cut deep, and healing takes time. Most of us need some kind of support.
This year, St. Thomas More Ministry of Care is sponsoring a support group for those separated or divorced. All are welcome. We have found that there is a need for such a group in the west valley. This does not replace counseling. It is not a therapy group. It is simply a support group. Following the guidelines of Catholic Divorce Ministry, confidentiality is essential. All have the right to speak or remain silent. People of all faiths are welcome.
Beginning October 8th, this group will meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month from 7-8:30 p.m. in the parlor of the church which is located at the right of the main entrance.
Please call the parish office at 623-566-8222 for more information.
