"Jesus Weeps"
When Jesus saw her weeping and the Jews who had come with her weeping, he became perturbed and deeply troubled, and said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Sir, come and see.” And Jesus wept. So the Jews said. “See how he loved him.”
John 11: 33-37
No one is ever ready to say good-bye to someone that they love. With the death of a loved one come shattered dreams and endless days and nights of emptiness. “What now,” one may ask. “Who will listen to the seemingly endless pain of my loss?” Scripture assures us that even Jesus wept at the death of his dear friend Lazuras. He wept for his loss, for Martha’s and Mary’s and for the community of Bethany who had also come to to share in the grief of the death of dear Lazuras. Jesus’ weeping allows us to weep, and calls us to find hope in our loss
Bethany Support Group is held on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the parish office.
