Please join us as Sr. Lydia Armenta, OSB will guide us through the Benedictine tradition and path of spirituality in modern times.  Who was St. Benedict and what his life was like in the monastery.  Through Lectio Divina (Latin for divine reading) we will learn about the traditional Catholic practice of scriptural reading, meditation and prayer of Scripture.  Lectio Devina is intended to promote communion with God, and to increase the knowledge of God's Living Word.Wednesday February 8 at 7 p.m. 

Sr. Lydia ArmentaSister Lydia Armenta, OSB has been a Benedictine since 1994 and made her final profession in 2000.  Sister Lydia is a Catholic and a member of the Benedictine Sisters at Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery in Phoenix, Arizona and also serves on the Diocese of Phoenix Vocation Committee.She works as Spiritual Director with the Cursillo Movement in Phoenix, Arizona since 2002. 

Sister Lydia received her certificate of Spiritual Direction from Hesychia School for Spiritual Directors from Redemptorist Retreat and Renewal Center at Picture Rocks in Tucson Arizona in 2006. She is presently the retreat co-coordinator at the Monastery and continues Spiritual Direction.

WITH DEACON RON GONZALEZ

Beginning Thursday, October 6, and continuing through  December 15, Deacon Ron will be presenting classes on the Protestant Reformation and the Catholic response.  Have you ever wondered why Protestants always ask: “Have you been born again?” or “Do you have a personal relationship with Christ?”  Come and learn about the political intrigue behind the movements and why the U.S. has a separation of Church and State.

These classes will begin at 12:00 Noon and last approximately 45 minutes.  Bring your lunch, we’ll provide coffee and ice tea.  The format is informal and you may attend all classes or come when your schedule permits.
